Last Blog? Last Blog!

This is the last blog that I will have to write for this class! Horrah!

Regardless I am sitting in the exam room writing this. I need to send off an email and then take this exam. I'm personally more worried about my computer science exam at noon. It's going to be much harder than writing a reflective letter...

Thursday, last night of studying

So here I am finishing up my second to last blog entry. I will write one more before class tomorrow and that will be exactly fifty! Boy am I good or what?

On another note this is my last night for studying, which I am excited about. That English final I can't really prepare for, but I've got a Computer Science exam tomorrow that should be REALLY FUN

...not...

Anyway I'm off to leave work (just stayed late at my desk instead of going home, pretty distraction free) and go to bed early. Hopefully I can pull some last minute studying in-between English and Computer Science.

Wednesday, cramming time!

I've got physics and calculus tomorrow. This is going to be fun being back to back and all. I liked last semester when I had all my finals spread out during the week, that felt a lot better...

On the plus side though it will all be over soon. If only my GPA could survive another week.

Tuesday

Went in to work early, but I didn't just work I studied some computer science. I went through most of what I needed to cover and I'm going to leave the rest to Thursday night. Hopefully it will all work out, it always seems to.

On another note does anyone know how many free-writes we are supposed to have for Friday? I was there all the days, but my papers have been all over the place lately so I wouldn't be surprised if I misplaced one.

Singing?

Today I got some good studying in. I kept going where I left off on calculus and made some progress while I worked. I love being paid to study!

I also attend a calculus review session which helped to point out which sections I should really focus in on.

Third main thing I did today was I did a cover of I'll Make a Man Out Of You, but it was coding related. It's worth up to ten to fifteen points on the final! My friend Billy and I just finished it up and I think that I am going to get started studying for that computer science exam for at least a little bit before I head back home and sleep.

Sunday, relaxation!

So today I tried to get a good start on my finals studying, but I wasn't able to get going. I went when the library opened to start studying for calculus, but I couldn't focus! I did a couple of problems and covered a few sections, but nothing really got moving forward. I feel bad about it, but there is always tomorrow.

Saturday! Yay!

Today has been a good day. The new episode of Korra was fantastic and leaves me wanting to skip forward to next Saturday. Been playing some Project M with some friends, a good day overall.

Currently I'm in the library just doing some formalities for my classes like evaluations etc. Going to start studying some calc pretty soon, that'll make me feel better because I haven't really thought about exams yet. All of mine ended up being on Thursday and Friday so I've got plenty of time to study, but still need to start...

Friday, April 27, 2012

Friday!

So it's Friday and Mrs. Pavletic emailed us and let us know that our wiki grade is up. I checked it and we got an awesome grade! Hooray! I'm still debating if I should rewrite my paper or not at this point, I really don't feel like doing it, but every point on my grade counts!

I need to start studying for exams :P

8AM, it's too early for this...

So Alethia and I just finished up working on our wiki. I'm glad that it is finally done, I just hope we get a good grade...

I was looking over the rubric and there is a section for references which confused me. I emailed Mrs. Pavletic and I hope she can shed some light on the subject. I don't want to miss any major points for something trivial...

Final day of Class!

So we had our final day of class today! YAY!

It went well, there were cupcakes to eat and a wiki to work on. We got an extension to our assignment for Friday afternoon so that was nice. Alethia and I are going to meetup at 8AM in the library to finish everything up. It's going pretty good, just some finishing touches and proof reading is in order.

Reflection Journal

So time to finally sit down and write the reflection part of the journal. I have been writing quick blurbs on what we had done each class period so that when it is all done I can write a couple of paragraphs of reflection. I was initially going to do a quick reflection on each day, but I feel that a larger reflection at the end would be able to give a better idea of what really went down. I hope what I write is what she is looking for!

Getting There!

So today Alethia and I both worked hard on the wiki today. We got all of our links in there and some pictures that actually fit. I'm feeling better about the whole project now so that's always good.

Only problem that I'm running into now is that finals are creeping up on me and I still have to worry about this and another project before I can focus hard on them. Not to mention the Calc test that I have to take in the morning... Fun times all around!

Homework Day...

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Watch in awe as you are forced to do homework! Ugg..

Anyway I don't have much homework, but what I have is big stuff. I've got to work a little on the English project to get it rolling and moving in the right direction. Also got the paper rewrite that I need to get an idea for. Got a Computer Science project that is due this week, another group project, that we are meeting up for. On top of all that got some calculus, but at this point it is the least of my problems...

Good relaxing day

Today was a good day. I got up early to watch the new episode of Legend of Korra. It was a great one and I can't wait to see where they take it! I then went to a Brawl tourney where I just ended up doing some friendlies and chilling for a bit. Then went to a friend's house and watched some TV.

Most interesting however would have to be seeing Rocky Horror. Didn't really know what I was getting into, but was at least amusing. Gotta love cult films.

Friday, April 20, 2012

At least it is Friday

So it's Friday and I worked on my rough draft in class. It is going okay, but I need to find a way to implement some links into what I wrote so that it can have some support. I am kinda worried about getting it done on time, but I did talk to Mrs. Pavletic and it is possible to get an extension which I think would help out a lot.

Another thing is the paper rewrite. I did not do so hot on the third paper and I could defiantly use the grade boost, but when looking at my paper my only true problem was that I did not focus so much on the describing the problem. That means that I might have to end up throwing away most of the paper which is aggravating...

Lack of Motivation

I don't know what it is about school almost being over, but i'm so out of it. I don't have any motivation to do anything school related. Finals and coming up and we still have projects to do, yet I still feel like doing nothing.

On the project's note though, got my section quickly written out because that is about all I could get out. Probably not that great, but it is a start...

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Outline and Assignments!

Today in class out group laid out what each of us should do using our outline. This probably should have been done a while back, but atleast it got done. Marcelo is leaving on Thursday so he is going to get us his section on Sunday, but Alethia and I are going to get our parts together on Friday. Should be good, but honestly I'm a bit nervous about it all..

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Physics Test

Took my physics test today, I think it went pretty well. Most of the material was stuff that I covered in high school, but I'm always a little nervous when taking multiple choice physics test.

On an English related note, I really need to get started on the reflection journal for this unit. That seriously has not happened... Hehe... >.>

Physics Test Clouding my Thinking

Got a physics test tomorrow that I'm studying for. Honestly I don't think it is going to be that bad, but with so few test I don't have much room to fail!

As far as today Marcello and I talked a little about the project, and made sure that both of us understood exactly what we need to do. I am a bit worried about Marcello being gone for a while during this project, but I think that everything will work out.

Sunday, April 15, 2012

Reflection Journal

I completely forgot about the reflection journal... I need to start that today. Overall though this project shouldn't be to bad. It is a group project so after we get a solid outline done, dividing up the work should make this so much better! On top of all that we are spending the week just working, so if we put our minds to it we can do it! </cheezycatchphrase>

Saturday, April 14, 2012

Good Saturday

Today was a good Saturday, I got some much needed sleep and was able to wash my car! On top of all that Legend of Korra officially premiered. If you are interested, the first two episodes are on iTunes for free. I'd definitely recommend them! I am looking forward to seeing how this show turns out.

Interesting Class Period

Today in class we looked at different wiki pages in order to get a better idea of how ours is to be laid out. This was very helpful as we saw some advantages and disadvantages to different layouts.

Now we just need to get started on the auctual project and start writing it. We have a tentative outline for the project and what we want to mention, but I feel that we should run it by Mrs. Pavletic before we do anything major.

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Getting my act together...

Honestly when it comes to school work I need to get it together. Finals are coming up soon and that doesn’t include the couple of upcoming test and the projects that all pile up at the end of the year. I need to spend part of this weekend making a strong plan of attack on all of this and sticking to it. I really need to stop procrastinating and just get a bunch of stuff done...

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

Pretty Successful Meeting

Today in class we got a lot done! We were able to get a solid topic down and a couple of reasons or explanations as to why the problem still exists. I feel better about this project although I think we need to formulate a plan on exactly who needs to do what and when. That will help out a lot!

Monday, April 9, 2012

Monday...

Alright so today kinda sucked overall. Pretty sure that I failed a computer science test today, so that was wonderful. Other than that today was alright, I mean it is Monday after all...

In terms of the project we still need to come up with a topic. Mrs. Pavletic mentioned the standards difference between high school and college would be a good topic to explore. I am planning on getting a group chat or something together tomorrow to talk and research everything.

Powered Through Some Mike Rose

So I was able to get a good outline of our chapter and some of the prevalent issues that Mike Rose mentions in the chapter. I went ahead and mentioned some of the information that Rose uses to support his claim as well. I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself. Now that I have listed my information I am interested to see what my group is able to accomplish and see what questions that we can ask for Friday's online discussion!

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

Ppprrrooojjeeeccttt GO!

Started looking over our group's assigned chapter. It is a fairly long one with a lot of different ideas in tow. I saw some great ideas for topics to research. I think that we can pull this assignment off I just need to understand a little bit more about what exactly we need to do for the project. That usually comes with time on these things :P

Sunday, April 1, 2012

Done!

So I finished my paper with plenty of time to spare today. I'm proud of myself about how I was able to spend some time on Wednesday and tweak that version of the draft. After that I ended up with 6 different drafts, something I am proud of.

Overall though I need to spend less time procrastinating. Even though I was able to change my paper 5 different times, I did it over the course of the week and today I spend a lot of time just lounging. I could have been studying for my calculus test on Tuesday or my computer science test next Monday since I'm going to be out of town all weekend. :/

Saturday, March 31, 2012

Saturday!

Today was an interesting day. I had to attend a conference for my scholarship from 8AM to 3, so that took up most of my day. Overall I did not work on my paper today, go figure :P

Tomomrrow I am going to get that paper done! I feel pretty good about it overall, just need to get the writing cetner to look over it and I think it'll be good.

Thursday, March 29, 2012

Busy night

Tonight I plan on looking over my paper and seeing what all I can catch on the third pass. Should be interesting and I hope that I can get some awesome conclusion going. What I have right now seems to be lacking a little.

Also on a side note I always am pushing the word limit on these assignments, I think I am at like 1,010 words or something similar. I always have one more sentence to say and nowhere to put it!

Wednesday, March 28, 2012

Rough Draft v2!

Alright so I worked some more on my rough draft today and I think it is going in the right direction. I finally have a conclusion (gasp), but I don't really like it at the moment. For now I left it as is and will see how it sounds later. It is amazing what coming back to writing can do, you not only catch a bunch of stuff but you can really tell if something is good or not!

I'm hoping that this paper is going to turn out good, I am planning on meeting with either Mrs. Dawson or Mrs. Pavletic about it at some point tomorrow or Friday. Should be good for the weekend then!

Tuesday, March 27, 2012

Well it was a Tuesday

Took a physics test today that went interestingly. I also got my Computer Science test back which I thought I did better on. I need to focus more on school work.

In contrast to that I am planning on working on my paper tomorrow. I think I've got a good start on this paper and some good advice to go with. I need to meet with the writing center at some point and maybe Mrs. Pavletic to ensure that everything to going in the right direction, but I think that everything will work out.

Overall I just need to get focused on schoolwork. I've been so distracted lately...

Monday, March 26, 2012

Rough Draft

So we had peer review today and I was able to meet with Mrs. Dawson about my paper. The peer review was really helpful and I think it worked a lot better than the previous anonymous write ups. I was able to talk directly and ask counter questions to their advice. I felt like I have a better idea about where exactly my paper is lacking and what I should do to improve it. This combined with my meeting with Mrs. Dawson I feel a lot better about my paper. I think I can pull something good off.

But for now I need to study physics for the test tomorrow. Onwards to victory! (hopefully at least)

Sunday, March 25, 2012

Cannot focus...

Gah I cannot focus on this paper right now. I've got a great outline going and everything that I want to mention all together in one sheet, but I cannot get the motivation to actually start writing. I should not be bad because I've got a good idea of what I want to say, but I just need to write it all down.

I'm going to get lunch and have a library marathon. I've got to finish this paper in time so that I can study for my physics test on Tuesday.

Saturday, March 24, 2012

Saturday

What a nice day outside! We went to get lunch and it was wonderful.

Regardless I talked to Mrs. Palvetic yesterday and I've got a better grip of what I need to be doing for this paper and feel better about it. I'm going to get started tomorrow and enjoy today to its fullest!

Good luck everyone and have a great day!

Thursday, March 22, 2012

So I've scheduled to talk to Mrs. Pavletic tomorrow afternoon about my topic and hopefully we can narrow it down and really figure out exactly what I want to write about. This paper has been a little bit more difficult than the previous ones, but with a little bit of effort I think I can pull it through.

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

Finally

Well I got both of my interviews done! Now I just need to organize the notes from my second interview and print it out!

But there is a problem here... I need to narrow down my topic a bunch.

There are so many angles to this issue that I need to focus on one and really run with it. Gah! I need to go to office hours...

Questions and Interviews

Alright so to start of my spring break was fantastic. I was able to relax, see some of my best friends, and go to an anime convention!

Which all means that I did almost no homework over spring break! HORRAY! >.>

Anyway I'm about to start working on my questions for my interviews. I have two different experts lined up, so I need to pick the one that I am going to interview and interview that person tomorrow. I plan on interviewing my mother for the layperson opinion, so I can call her up anytime.

The questions are going to be interesting to figure out. My issue is the exploitation of cheap labor to build electronic parts and all the ethical issues surrounding it. I need to get information regarding the expert's purchases regarding these parts or have they ever thought about switching to locally owned and operated plants. I need to ask them if they know how big of a difference the labor costs are and what repercussions could arise if this cheap labor was regulated.

There are many different things that I need to ask them and I need to spend some time thinking about how I want my paper to go so that I can narrow down the questions.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

Calculus!

Alright so I did not have much time to work on my paper today, there's always tomorrow!

I need to stop by Mrs. Pavletic's office hours to solidify my topic before I start to get my questions and interviews in progress. From my experience last time I want to make sure my topic is perfect before I get the train wreck a rollin'.

On another note Calc II quiz tomorrow, that should be a lot of fun... Sequences and series are not my friends at all...

Monday, March 5, 2012

Topic, for sure this time?

Alright so I was originally going back in forth between two different ideas about this paper. After thinking about the topic and hearing some of the questions today in class, I think I'm going to go for the abuse of sweatshops. It's an easy topic to relate to and understand.

The only problem that I run into is interviewing a layperson about the issue. I feel that the information from my experts should be focused more on the how and why while my moral sides should mainly come from the laypersons. There is a problem with this because I feel that most people I interview are immediately going to side with the "it's wrong" point of view. I want this paper to cover both sides of the issue and I want some insight on the other side rather than everyone thinking it is the wrong thing to do.

Topic

Today has been a pretty chill day, nothing much has happened. I enjoyed having a prety relaxed weekend, but now it is time to get some work done!

I have had a couple of ideas for this paper that I've been throwing around. The first one is the idea that the creation of electrical equipment abuses the labor of other countries. The products that we all enjoy using were more than likely put together for pennies on the dollar in some Chinese sweatshop. While it might be cheaper and easier to do, is it the right thing to do?

Another idea that I like is the idea that with the expansion of technology comes unexpected consequences. Today we can use our phones to record conversations, spy on people, or stalk them online. We can write code that steals information from someone's computer or denies them access or certian web pages. There are devices out there that can track someone's location to a couple of feet. Is it right for us to abuse the technologies that we are given or are creating for malicious purposes?

A couple of interesting ideas to play with, I hope to talk to my professor about it sometime this week before I spend too much time on one topic.

Manifesto

Since I forgot to post this a while back, here is my manifesto:

The Problem with Piracy
A new movie comes out in theaters. Rather than getting out of your comfy chair you decide to watch it online. Within seconds you are enjoying a great movie without having to spend a dime. With technology like the Internet, miracles like this are possible, but is it the right thing to do? This act of downloading or enjoying content without paying for it can be referred to as pirating. Pirating on the Internet hurts all of those involved. Without paying, you are not only taking money from the makers of the content, but you are preventing yourself from enjoying content that could have been made with your support. Through the act of pirating no one is benefited and everyone is hurt.
I watched a lot of television when I was younger and I always sought a copy of my favorite shows on DVD. One of my favorite series is called Code Lyoko. In the later seasons, ratings were low and they would air new episodes in a single time slot without any reruns or advertisements for future episodes. I could tell that the series was going to end soon without renewal and knew that I would want to watch it again in the future. I went online to see if I could buy DVDs for my personal collection, but I was heartbroken as I was unable to find anything. I delved deep into Google searching page after page for something that I could buy that would allow me to enjoy my favorite TV show. Throughout my researching I was able to find a source for these episodes, but it was not the one that I was looking for. There was an entire website where I could download, episode by episode, the entire show absolutely free. I was excited when I first found this page, but I quickly began to think through what I found.  I would be illegally downloading these videos and would be stealing from the creators of the series that I loved.
When browsing this website I began to seek advice on my beliefs about piracy. I subscribed to the philosophy of paying for all of the music and movies that I enjoyed and this site directly challenged what I believed in. With this deep topic in tow, I turned to my parents and asked for their advice. We talked for a while about the issue and I was able to get a better understanding about the matter. They gave me their opinions and offered reasonable solutions such as emailing the distributor or asking friends if they had a tape of a couple episodes. I took both of their ideas into consideration, but I knew that none of my friends watched the show nor did I ever think that an email from a kid would ever be read, let alone responded to. I asked my friends for their opinions and they simply told me to download it. I went back and forth with them and argued the moral implications of the issue. I told them that they were stealing from the people that they loved. They were preventing their favorite artist or movie producer from creating more products for them to enjoy. I defended my belief strongly, but in the end they argued that since there was no other way to acquire the episodes, that I had the right to download them. They had a very narrow mindset and I was unable to convince them of my belief, but in the end I could not accept their viewpoint. I knew that I wanted to show my support for the series and I could not simply download the episodes for free.
Whenever I think about this event I am always proud of myself for sticking with my belief. I was truly tempted by the ability to watch my favorite show again and I spent some time deciding whether or not to break my ideas about piracy. The conversations with both my parents and my friends helped me to see both sides of the coin as well as possible solutions to my dilemma. The discussions that I had with them helped me to solidify my belief and convinced me to stick to it. I was able to defend my ideas with my friends and explained to them that not everyone saw the way that they did.  Although I prevented the enjoyment of my favorite show and questioned myself about my choices, I still was able to uphold my belief. I learned that even though I could be tempted by these illegal downloads, I now know that I can shy away from the temptation and I am able to stick to what I believe in. This is a truly powerful characteristic and I am proud of myself for displaying it.
Piracy is a problem across the world today. Almost anything can be downloaded without purchase and it causes major uproar. Society is only hurt by piracy. By illegally downloading anything money is taken from all aspects of the product and in the end society has a lesser chance of further enjoyment of future products due to lack of revenue. In my experience I found out that piracy can be tempting, but we as a people need to learn to purchase the products we love. By buying products we can show companies that we truly enjoy what we are purchasing and they can make more. With the element of piracy involved we must resist the urge to download something and instead prove our love with the one thing that companies love most: money.

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Alright now that I have a true topic that will make a decent paper, I need to define it properly. In order to do that I need to figure out my exact stance on the issue.

My thoughts on piracy have many different angles, but with the current day in age I think it is approiate to focus on multimedia because it is the most widely know and easily relatable.

So my stance is that piracy hurts all. Honestly when someone downloads a song, they hurt both the artist and the record company who lives of the sale of the music in question. During that illegal download they do not receive any royalties from that stolen copy nor do they truly gain anything.

It is hard to compare piracy to stealing because in the act of stealing there is only one object and someone is taking that object away. In the realm of computer it is easy to make a perfect copy of the object and take that copy. How can you put a price on something that can be duplicated? What exactly are you stealing online if there are infinite copies? What is gained or lost through this art?

I guess what I could focus in on how I believe that there should be an alternate way to support the shows or artists that you enjoy. An example of this would be music. I know that iTunes takes money off the top for hosting the files and providing the payment services etc, then the record companies take their cut for distributing the music and adverting the band. When the money reaches the artists bank account it is most likely a very small sum that they are actually able to spend.

It seems to me that there should be another way to support an artist or movie producer rather than buying the finished product. When it comes to shows or artists that I love, I would love to just put money directly in their pocket for what I enjoyed. I always buy T shirts, posters, toys, etc from my favorite things, but it is incredibly tempting to go online to listen to a song or movie that is really hard to buy or find.

With services like Spotify, Netflix, and Hulu it is much easier to get content for free that supports everyone involved, but there will always be those off the wall shows and artists that it is too expensive to purchase. When it comes to purchased copies from places like iTunes or Amazon, they always have some sort of DRM on them that requires a certain player and almost punishes the user for purchasing that content.

Such a complex issue...

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

Well so much for that...

Alright so after meeting with my English professor, it seems that I need to change my topic.

Such is my luck, go figure.

Although I must admit the way was Mrs. Palvetic explained the prompt, I immediately thought of a topic that almost everyone can relate to today:

piracy

Everyone from consumers to companies struggle with this issue. Consumers fight protection methods put forth by the companies in order to enjoy the product that they purchased and companies fight for the consumers business.

A great example of this today is Ubisoft. Ubisoft forces players of their popular game Assassin's Creed 2 to stay connected to the internet at all times. It is important to note that the game is completely single player and has no online game play.

Want to play it while on a flight? Better hope it has WiFi.
Internet went out and want to play Assassin's Creed? Sorry, out of luck.

An example that I have run into recently is TV series on iTunes. iTunes offers almost every current TV series and will deliver them to your computer within a day or two in pure HD quality. Now this works great (abet expensive), but there is one great problem for me.

I want to watch this series on my phone and not my iPod.

Well I'm out of luck. These files use iTunes FairPlay, which allows the files to run on only Apple approved hardware and software. So I cannot use my phone, with it's awesome Super AMOLED screen to watch my  files.

It frustrates me to no end because I would enjoy having my files whenever and wherever I want them. I do not want to be tied down to one product while people are out there downloading it for free.

Now I just have to figure out a way to turn this rant into a paper.

Leave a comment if you want to chime in on the issue :P

Sunday Afternoon and Rough Drafts...

Alright so it is Sunday afternoon and I have successfully not started my rough draft yet! Wait that's not good news...

Anyway I think I have got an idea of my topic that I want to run with. My belief that I want to do is that people should have an idea of how the things that they use work. Now this is very general, so I know I need to narrow it down significantly. Currently I've had a lot of experience with cars working on them and driving them.

What I'm thinking right now is ABS. Now you might not know what ABS is or how it works, but that's part of my paper. The idea that I am going to explain is by knowing how ABS worked I was able to avoid a wreck. Since my car does not have this magical technology, I was able to reproduce its effects manually and save some trouble.

I think I might be able to run with this... Wish me luck.

Busy Week...

I tell you what, each and every day of college I spend more and more time at the library, or is that because of the Engineering Physics II test this Thursday? Bleh...

Anyway I have not had much time to ponder my beliefs and select one that would fit better than one about free time. At this point I could write about my belief in sleep and how getting the right amount makes all of the difference, it would probably be about right.

I read another blog entry that mentioned test scores not being a reflection of true intellect. This idea stuck me as interesting, and I have plenty of personal experiences to write about concerning it, but I would find it difficult to make a manifesto about it...

Either way I need to spend some time figuring everything out, and studying for physics. Thank you RBD for being open 24/7!

Topic Change? Most Likely...

The time we spent in class made me start to question the topic that I chose. The topic that I ogrinally chose was something that I truely believe in, but starting to think about it more makes me question how I can write about it personally. Having time to myself is something that keeps me sane in many ways and I have examples that would support this, but I feel its too emotional for writing a manifesto.

So, this brings me back to square one with lost time. Ah well, I took off work to work on everything anyway...

So the question is again raised, what is a belief that I hold close to my heart? What is rule or idea that I follow from day to day?

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Too tired for this...

First off I'd like to say that I am obnoxiously tired right now for some reason. Must have been a combination of Humans vs Zombies finishing up this afternoon and getting around six hours of sleep last night. Nah that can't be it. >.>

Anyway for our next assignment in ENGL-1100 is to write about how others would view our belief. I have yet to solidify the topic that I want to write about, but the more I think about it, the more I want to write about free time. Everywhere I look I have more and more to do, but honestly I don't have time to do it all.

So I guess that settles it, I will write about free time. My belief centers around the idea that everyone would be better off if we had more time to relax and ignore the to do list. I always feel I would be more sane if I didn't have to worry about work, school, where to live next semester, or a scholarship application to fill out.

Back to the assignment that is due tomorrow, how others view our belief. I have plenty of experience with this because every time I express this idea with my mother, she says that that is not the way life works. She says that sometimes an entire weeks worth of work does not constitute a day or two off. This is something that I have trouble comprehending and implementing into my life.

Just makes me want to flip tables...

Beliefs

Beliefs are something that makes up a lot of who you are. The decisions that you make are often based upon your past experiences and what they have taught you. A system of beliefs is something that is gained through a lifetime and can not be explained simply.

This is where this project comes in. For my ENGL-1100 class we are to write a manifesto centering around one belief. Let's think about that for a minute. ONE... Belief...

Who I am is made up of thousands of different beliefs acquired over my 18 years on planet Earth, how do I choose just one belief to focus on? Should I talk about my belief of always clearing the microwave if it has 3 seconds on the timer? Should I write about how everyone should understand how their car works? Should I explain that everyone needs time to enjoy life itself?

Well I guess this is what precisely this assignment is about. Choosing and through writing finding out more about yourself and explaining to others your feelings about a certain belief.

C'est la vie

Who am I?

Hello! I am TJ Lowry. I am majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Auburn. This blog was setup for use in ENGL-1100, but it can be used for anything. For now here is some advice that anyone can use:
